IN MEMORIUM

Richard 'Dick' Clarke was a much loved member of Wenhaston Bowls Club and friend to all members as well as many other on the bowls scene and local area. Dick sadly passed away on September 4th 2021 suddenly and leaves a huge hole in the club. 

Mel was a friendly much loved character of Wenhaston Bowls Club who always lifted spirits on and off the rink. Mel's death was a shock to all members and she leaves an un-fillable hole at the club.

Eve was Wenhaston Bowls Club's president for many years. Eve was given the club's first ever 'Lifetime President' title to celebrate all of her efforts and commitment to the club. Eve sadly passed away unexpectedly in June 2023 and leaves behind a loving family. Eve's passing is a huge loss to the bowling world, especially Wenhaston Bowls Club.

Colin was a much loved part of the Wenhaston Bowls community, although not a member in recent years Colin still showed his face at some of our matches and tournaments with his wife Dot. Colin had been involved in the club for a number of years, he also assisted in the coaching of the juniors in the late 2000s and early 2010s. He was a gentleman who everybody loved. 

Ray was a lovely, gentle soul. During his long period at Wenhaston Bowls Club he had taken on a number of roles including Treasurer and later in his bowling journey he took over as Club President after Eve Peck passed away. Ray always loved being out in the sunshine and enjoyed his time playing bowls and being in the company of good friends, and his beloved wife Violet, who also played bowls. 

Fred, pictured here with his grandson Tom, was a wonderful man and much loved member of Wenhaston Bowls club amongst other clubs including Framlingham and Leiston. Fred played at Wenhaston for a few seasons and even when he and Tom went to Leiston for the 2025 season to make it easier for a working Tom, Fred helped out Wenhaston in a few games during the season. Fred was lively and enjoyed lots of banter off and on the green, especially with Tom and close friend Pat. Freds passing came as a shock to Wenhaston members and he will be missed and remembered for years to come.
